The Right Outlook…

This morning was the second time in a few months that I actually prayed on our church’s prayer call. Our prayer call has been open for over a year and in this time I’ve probably missed only a handful of calls. Usually, I call in and bask in the glory with my phone on mute. I enjoy starting my day in prayer but I haven’t felt “lead” to lend my voice to it.

Most of the time, we blame the ‘spirit’ for our indecisiveness. We have to have a fall guy. So, we blame God for us not moving or acting… saying that we’re waiting on God, when in fact it’s the other way around. He’s waiting on us.

Quite honestly, I’ve been pretty angry with God. I know that none of you ‘real’ Christians have ever had that testimony but, I do. My spirit has been wounded by life. Different events have happened to me and I’ve carried the hurt of these experiences. The funny thing is that there are always 3 choices to be made at any given time… God’s Choice, the devil’s choice AND my choice. And, let’s just say that some of the greatest hurt that I’ve experienced hasn’t been because of God’s or the devil’s options.

We are our own worst enemy. The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” There is One who knows and that’s God. He can and will help you, if you let him. Psalm 51:10 says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” We have to be open and ask him. Ask and it will be given; seek and you will find; knock and it will be open… We have to ask, seek and knock.

I was watching TD Jakes’ telecast this morning and he spoke about the blind man in Mark 8 and how he was healed. The powerful thing about this particular teaching was that there were other blind people that were healed after only one touch but, this man needed another touch in order to clear his vision. He was no longer blind but his vision wasn’t clear. He told Jesus what he saw and was given a second touch that made him whole.

All too often, we settle for the first touch knowing full well that the work isn’t finished. We are still seeing ‘men as trees’. God wants to complete the work but because of the issues that we carry… one touch isn’t enough. What separates us from being thoroughly complete is our acknowledging where we actually are and taking the next step – going back to get finished.

Yesterday, I still had cloudy vision but as of this morning… I praise God for 20/20!!!! God is great!!!

Don’t settle… God wants to do a COMPLETE work in you. Only you have the power to go back and get the rest. He’s waiting on you…

I love you ALL!!!
Stay blessed,
Jackie
